Why Homeopathy? 1) What do you want or hope to gain? 2) What do you hope to give?
A Day in the life of a Homeopathic Practitioner Many hours are spent listening to people relate their personal stories of pain, happiness, success,
failure, suffering, betrayal, joy and sorrow.
Some stories may share common elements but each individual will have a unique combination of experiences. If you have an insatiable curiosity about people this will make homeopathy exciting.
It
also means sitting still and quiet for hours, evaluating the information received and making decisions based on an analysis of the information presented to you. It is a challenge to maintain an objective
perspective of each individual without falling into deep emotional despair when hearing heart-wrenching stories repeated over and over again.
Homeopathy involves both your logical, scientific reasoning skills
and your emotional, artistic, intuitive aptitudes.
This combination of logic and intuition can be compared to a modern day Sherlock Holmes. Every case can be seen as a mystery and the correct homeopathic remedy will provide the ultimate answers and solutions to the problems presented.
Responsibility for another’s well-being involves a willingness to refer the individual to additional health care givers in a timely manner. No matter how tempting it is to view success and failure of
homeopathic remedies personally, it is important to remember that your responsibility is to provide the highest level of care you are capable of and to remain objective enough to recognize and acknowledge when that
is not enough for the overall health of the individual concerned.
There are over 4000+ homeopathic remedies available for a homeopathic practitioner to use.
Typically, 200 of these are most commonly used. Even after 3 years of practise it is difficult to claim extensive knowledge of even 30 of these 200 remedies.
Each remedy has headaches.
The challenge is to determine if the EXACT kind of headache experienced by your patient matches the kind of headache that a specific remedy is known to cure.
Even experienced homeopaths count themselves
lucky to select the best homeopathic remedy on the first try 50% of the time. In most cases 3-4 remedies are selected before a clear improvement is seen.
Since homeopathy involves administering a remedy and then WAITING 2-5 weeks to see if it is successful, the process of trying 3-4 remedies can easily take 6 months or more.
